Founded in 1707 by a footman in the household of Queen Anne and his landlord, the shop started as a grocery store, before expanding greatly during the Victorian era.Illustrated colourfully throughout, showcasing the beautiful art of Edward Bawden. A noted war artist, Bawden is known to have produced some of his most innovative and humorous works for Fortnum and Mason.With an essay by Peyton Skipwith.
