Februar 2003 in Mödling) war ein österreichischer Illustrator und Karikaturist. Sokol studierte ab 1953 an der Hochschule für Welthandel in Wien und ab 1957 am Institute of Design in Chicago. Während seiner Tätigkeit als politischer Karikaturist der Arbeiter-Zeitung von 1960 bis 1967 erlangte er erste Bekanntheit. 1967 wechselte Sokol als Chefgrafiker zum frisch reformierten ORF, wo er ab 1987 als Art Director für den gesamten Design-Bereich des ORF zuständig war. Neben seiner Anstellung beim ORF blieb er aber weiterhin Karikaturist und Illustrator diverser Zeitungen, etwa Gestalter vieler Titelseiten der auflagestarken Kronen-Zeitung. Bereits 1957 war Hugh Hefner, der Gründer und Herausgeber des Playboys, auf Sokols Talent aufmerksam geworden und hatte ihn als regelmäßigen Mitarbeiter gewonnen. Bis zuletzt arbeitete Sokol auch für den Playboy. Bekannte Schöpfungen Sokols sind die ?ÖVP-Tant'? in der Arbeiter-Zeitung, das ORF-Auge genannte Senderlogo und seine Kreisky-Karikaturen.
