Aggiungi al carrello"Sales/posting to the USA suspended". Hard cover laminated pictorial boards, 296pp, b&w photos. A little wear to board edges, free corners of boards bumped and chipped, gift inscription centre of front fep; a good copy. The author was a veteran of WWII, and after he returned he began medical studies in 1947. In 1967 he gained a post graduate degree in psychiatry and worked in various mental institutions including Callan Park. He had a deep involvement in military psychiatry (including dealing with post traumatic stress cases) including a tour to Vietnam to treat battle-damaged men. A large segment of this memoir deals with his work with patients from past wars, and throughout the reader sees how events in his earier years, particularly his own experiences in the Pacific War, influenced his later life and impacted on his treatment of his patients.
