Carl Groidl Orchester Director achtungsvoll gewidmet von Anton M. Storch Mitglied des Orchesters im k. k. priv. Teather in der Josephstadt. 10. Werk." Unten links vom Widmungsempfänger eh. bezeichnet: "Mit der Dedication einverstanden. C. Groidl." - "Storch wirkte nach frühem Privatunterricht sowie Violin- und Theoriestudium am Konservatorium der Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde als Sologeiger im Orchester des Theaters an der Wien und nach dem Tod Clements dort auch als Orchesterdirektor, dann als Kapellmeister am Carltheater und am Theater in der Josefstadt" (ÖBL XIII, 324). "In dieser Eigenschaft entwickelte der Künstler eine staunenswerthe Thätigkeit [.]. Er würde aber auf diesem Gebiete kaum zu größerer Bedeutung gelangt sein, wenn sich nicht seine musikalische Individualität auf einem anderen Felde seiner Wirksamkeit entfaltet hätte. Als nämlich im J. 1843 der Wiener Männergesangverein - der erste in Oesterreich - gegründet wurde, wurde er nach kurzer Zeit gleichzeitig mit G. Barth dessen Chormeister. Angeregt durch die Pflege des deutschen Liedes, welche diesem um die Mitte des Jahrhunderts der Wiener Männergesangverein und zahlreiche deutsche Vereine zu theil werden ließen, schrieb er für die Gesangvereine eine große Zahl von Liedern, Chören und Quartetten, welche ihn rasch zu einem der populärsten Componisten Deutschlands machten. Seither widmete er seine große Begabung dieser musikalischen Dichtung und erwarb sich dadurch wesentliche Verdienste" (ADB XXXVI, 436f.). - Die Noten mit dem Text unterlegt; am Schluß die Signatur des Komponisten.
