Aggiungi al carrelloWraps. Condizione: Very good. Format is approximately 6.5 inches by 10.125 inches. 23, [9] pages plus covers. (Baseball's Greatest Heroes #1). Painted cover art by Joe Orsak. "The Mickey Mantle Story," story by Terry Malloy, art by Joe Sinnott with Joe Orsak assisting, letters by P. Iro and colors by Matt Webb. This is the continuation of the story of the Mick's life a bit beyond the 1951 World Series. Includes Josh Gibson The Black Babe Ruth written and illustrated by Joe Orsak with lettering by P. Iro and Coloring by "Catfish" Sakor. Full page black and white drawing of Gene Woodling by Joe Sinnott. 36 pages (including covers)., full color. Joe Orsak was inspired to become a comic book artist at the age of eleven by the artwork of JOE SINNOTT in TREASURE CHEST and JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY. In 1982 Orsak launched a comic strip in the newspapers of Syracuse, NY, THE ADVENTURES OF CAPTAIN 'CUSE. The strip ran for eight years. Joe turned to sports comics in the 1990s, working on bios of MICKEY MANTLE, BROOKS ROBINSON and DUKE SNIDER for MAGNUM COMICS. These books gave Joe the chance to work with his inspiration Orsak's pencils were inked by Joe Sinnott! Mantle was a poor businessman and did not invest well. His lifestyle was restored to its former luxury by his leadership in the sports memorabilia craze that swept the US beginning in the 1980s, and by participating in publications such as this. There appears to have been only these two comic book issued on Mickey Mantle from Magnum Comics. Joseph Leonard Sinnott (October 16, 1926 June 25, 2020) was an American comic book artist. Working primarily as an inker, Sinnott is best known for his long stint on Marvel Comics' Fantastic Four, from 1965 to 1981 (and briefly in the late 1980s), initially over the pencils of Jack Kirby. During his 60 years as a Marvel freelance artist and then remote worker salaried artist, Sinnott inked virtually every major title, with notable runs on The Avengers, The Defenders, and Thor. In the mid-2000s, Stan Lee cited Sinnott as the company's most in-demand inker, saying jocularly, "[P]encilers used to hurl all sorts of dire threats at me if I didn't make certain that Joe, and only Joe, inked their pages. I knew I couldn't satisfy everyone and I had to save the very most important strips for [him]. To most pencilers, having Joe Sinnott ink their artwork was tantamount to grabbing the brass ring." Sinnott's art appeared on two US Postal Service commemorative stamps in 2007, and he continued to ink The Amazing Spider-Man Sunday comic strip until his retirement in 2019. First Edition First Printing Second [Final?] ]Issue. Joe Sinnott, Joe Orsak, Peter Iro, and Matt Webb (illustratore).…
