Die Motivation hierfür ist, daß die meisten der bis zum jetzigen Zeitpunkt durch die Entwickler von HLA, dem Defense Modeling and Simulation Office (DMSO), veröffentlichten Beispielanwendungen in der Programmiersprache C++ verfaßt wurden. Obwohl vielfältige Bibliotheken zur Simulation direkt in C++ zur Verfügung stehen, ist es für einen an den Komfort von Simulationstools bzw. Simulationssprachen gewöhnten Simulationsentwickler als eher hinderlich zu betrachten, eine Simulation in C++ zu programmieren, nur um an einer verteilten Simulation im HLA-Stil teilnehmen zu können. Da die High Level Architecture aber gerade durch ihre offene Architektur dazu einlädt, die verschiedensten Tools miteinander zu koppeln, sollte die Frage untersucht werden, ob und wie sich verschiedene existierende Simulatoren in die HLA integrieren lassen.Gang der Untersuchung:Hierzu werden zuerst die grundlegenden Ideen und Charakteristika der HLA, soweit sie für diese Arbeit relevant sind, diskutiert (Kaptitel 2). Danach erfolgt in Kapitel 3 eine Aufstellung und Diskussion einer Liste von Anforderungen, die Simulatoren prinzipiell erfüllen müssen, um HLA-Kompatibilität zu erreichen. In Kapitel 4 wird dann auf einige im Rahmen dieser Arbeit exemplarisch untersuchte Simulationstools eingegangen. Es wird diskutiert, inwieweit sie den in Kapitel 3 aufgestellten Anforderungen genügen. Weiterhin wird am Beispiel der Implementierung der HLA-Anbindung von SLX dokumentiert, wie eine mögliche Lösung für die HLA-Anbindung eines Tools aussehen kann. Aus den untersuchten Tools werden verschiedene allgemeine Strategien zur HLA-Anbindung von Simulationstools abgeleitet und diskutiert.
