Solo una gora chiara al margine delle prime carte del secondo volume, peraltro esemplare marginoso ed in ottimo stato di conservazione. Pregevole edizione, la più ricercata fra le "moderne" la cui traduzione si deve all'Ambrosoli. Cfr. Brunet (V, 556) che cita la presenza di esemplari in carta grande; Gamba, 1663 in nota. Book.

Stabilisce la date della traduzione, esamina i CODICI e le tre dediche: quella ai primi dieci libri, tradotti per il papa Niccolò V terminati nel 1455, quando il papa morì; tradusse altri 7 libri per il mecenate patrizio veneziano Giacomo Antonio MARCELLO fino al 13 luglio 1458. Marcello inviò al re Renato d'Angiò una lunga DEDICA in latino qui RIPORTATA integralmente in fne con iscrizioni del Codice ferrarese. Riporta un passo in latino dal lbro VII (citato dal Piccolomini). Il fascicolo in-8° (cm 26) è completo delle sue 44 pagine e contiene altri saggi 1) sulle "reliquio" d'una biblioteca monastica dell'Abbazia di MURANO,; 2) un'edizione erroneamente attribuita a Baldassarre AZZOGUIDI; 3) 4 lettere del filosofo milanese Ermes VISCONTI "intreinseco du Alessandro MANZONI".
