Die Gelenke etwas brüchig, das Titelblatt mit Knickspuren und kleinen Einrissen, die ersten Seiten mit einem Wasserrand, sonst gut erhalten. The hinges a bit weak. Sehr schöne, illustrierte Ausgabe, die auch bei bei Belle lettres übersetzt wurde. Die Kupfer zeigen die Kaiser-Porträts. - Siehe Schweiger, 2, 984, erstmals 1520 erschienen. Sueton (Caius Suetonis Tranquillus, etwa 70-140n Chr.) Römischer Historiker und Biograph. Vollständig erhalten sind seine Lebensbeschreibungen römischer Kaiser, dagegen sind Biographien römischer Dichter, Rhetoren ud Grammatiker nur fragmentarisch überliefert. Sprache: latein.

Einband stärker berieben, etwas fleckig und angestaubt, Ecken und Kanten etwas bestoßen, der schmale Einbandrücken zum oberen Kapital hin von alter Hand handschriftliche betitelt. Innen ein alter Besitzvermerk auf dem Vorsatzblatt, der schöne Kupferstich an der rechten unteren Ecken außerhalb der Darstellung mit kleiner handschriftlicher Notiz von alter Hand, Seiten teils leicht finger- oder stockfleckig, wenige Seiten wurmstichig, ca. 30 Seiten in der Buchmitte stark wurmstichig zur rechten unteren Ecke hin, aber ohne Text- oder Buchstabenverlust. 1 Seite mit Einriß, einige Seiten leicht angeknickt. Binding heavily rubbed, somewhat stained and dusty, corners and edges somewhat bumped, the narrow spine towards the upper capital has a handwritten title in an old hand. Inside, an old ownership note on the flyleaf, the beautiful copperplate engraving at the lower right corner outside the image with a small handwritten note in an old hand. Some pages are slightly finger- or fox-stained, a few pages are worm-eaten, and approximately 30 pages in the center of the book are heavily worm-eaten toward the lower right corner, but no loss of text or letters.
