The Exhibitiion's theme is "Architecture and Freedom" with examples of work by Superstudio, Hans Hollein, Coop Himmelblau, others. N.B. Proper collation is difficult because of the lack of page numbers, the complete lack of an upper case, and the annoying free-style format of the times. I'm calling it complete but I'm also selling it with all faults, if any, which means no return on this item only. Text in German.

Luise King.- Günter Bock (1918 Danzig - 2002 Berlin) war Architekt, Stadtplaner, Hochschullehrer und Architekturtheoretiker. Seine Freundschaften mit Künstlern wie Karl Otto Götz, Joseph Beuys, Bernard Schultze u.a. inspirierten ihn zu seinem eigenständigen Weg der Verbindung von Architektur und Kunst. 1956 gründete er ein eigenen Architekturbüro. 1970 wurde er als Professor der Leiter der Architekturklasse an der Städelschule in Frankfurt a. M. und blieb dort bis zu seiner Emeritierung im Jahr 1984. Ab 1990 lehrte er dann als Gastprofessor am MIT. Bock war langjährig und bis zu seinem Tod mit der Architektin Luise King liiert. Luise King (1939, Dessau - 2024, Berlin) war eine Architektin, Stadtplanerin und Professorin an der TU Berlin. Sie war u.a. Assistentin bei Ernst Neufert und arbeitete für Candilis-Josic-Woods in Paris. Ab 1977 lehrte sie an der Städelschule in Frankfurt a. M. und erhielt 10 Jahre später einen Ruf an die TU Berlin, wo sie mit Ausnahme einer Gastprofessur am MIT bis zu ihrer Emeritierung 2005 blieb. Die von Gio Ponti geleitete Zeitschrift enthält auf 8 Seiten utopische Projekte der Avantgardeformation Superstudio, einer Gruppe von sechs Architekten (Peter Frassinelli, Alessandro Magris, Roberto Magris, Adolfo Natalini, Alessandro Poli, Cristiano Toraldo di Francia), die seit 1966 in Florenz gemeinsam Entwürfe im Bereich Architektur und Industriedesign ausgearbeitet haben. Ihre Entwürfe wurden in Ausstellungen 1966 und 1967 in Pistoia und Modena gezeigt, wo sie ihre 'Zwölf Idealstädte' ausstellten. 1972 wurden ihre Arbeiten im Museum of Modern Art in New York City im Rahmen der Ausstellung: 'Italy, the New Domestic Landscape' ausgestellt. Weiters: Richard und Dion Neutra, Renzo Piano, Ugo La Pietra, Raymond Loewy u.a. - Gutes Exemplar. Sprache: Zweisprachig.

Nell'indagare la relazione tra architettura e vita Superstudio progetta la serie "Atti fondamentali: vita, educazione, cerimonia, amore, morte", un ciclo di film che esulano dai canali tipici dell'architettura. La litografia che proponiamo si riferisce al quinto e ultimo episodio, la morte, pubblicato sul numero 380-381 di Casabella (agosto /settembre 1973 pp. 43-51) e mai realizzato in forma di video o film. Il fotomontaggio combina le immagini del "Cristo morto" del Mantegna, una rielaborazione del progetto di concorso per il cimitero di Modena e un uomo che ascolta i battiti del proprio cuore, un'immagine che sembra evocare la morte rispettivamente come memoria spirituale, fisica ed emotiva. Fondato nel 1966 da Adolfo Natalini il collettivo Superstudio si forma grazie alla collaborazione di altri architetti, Cristiano Toraldo di Francia, Magris, Frassinelli e Poli. In opposizione alla linea modernista il gruppo si concentra su una produzione teorica e utopica del pensiero che avrà poi un'eco rilevante in ambito internazionale. Il nostro esemplare fa parte della tiratura con il testo in lingua inglese (nel riquadro in basso a destra), si presenta incorniciato e in perfetto stato di conservazione. cm 70x100 (litografia).
