Aufbauend auf einer theoretischen Betrachtung verschiedener Qualitätsaspekte und deren Operationalisierung sowie der Komponenten von Redeflüssigkeit wird die Entwicklung des Versuchsdesigns und -materials eingehend beschrieben. Im Experiment zeigt sich, dass eine weniger flüssige Dolmetschung zwar gleich gut verstanden wird wie eine flüssige, das Publikum aber glaubt, sie schlechter verstanden zu haben.
