Jahrhundert, stellt er mit seinen kurvenreichen, futuristischen Architekturvisionen die vorherrschende Bauweise und vor allem den Rationalismus LeCorbusiers in Frage - er erscheint damit als Wegbereiter des ,Neuen Bauens". Eines seiner Hauptwerke: die Philharmonie in Berlin. Nicht zu vergessen ist Scharouns Begabung als Zeichner - der Band zeigt auch einige seiner genialen Architekturzeichnungen- und utopien.
