Auch im eigenen Land ist dieses eigenartige Phänomen zu beobachten, bedingt durch einen starken sprachlichen Einfluss von deutschen Medien. In den letzten Jahren versuchte daher die Bildungspolitik in Österreich verstärkt auf diese Problematik hinzuweisen und durch eine gezielte Verwendung von österreichischem Deutsch im Unterricht gegenzuwirken und die eigene Sprachidentität und darüber hinaus die eigenständige Kultur neu ins Bewusstsein zu rufen.
