Deux groupes d'avant-garde, dans la lignée d' "Archigram" y sont particulièrement présents:-Le groupe "Iryûhin Kenkyûjo" formé en 1967 par Tomoharu Makabe, Makoto Ôtake, Noriaki Murata, Daisuke Nakamura.-Le groupe "Konpeitô" formé vers 1968 par Ken Ide, Iwao Matsuyama, Makoto Motokura.Ces deux groupes ont été remarqués par la revue "Toshi-jutaku" entre 1969 et 1972.
