The "Best Edition" of the work first issued in 1862 and regularly re-issued until the turn of the century. Its scarcity partly explained by the number of copies broken for the print trade Here in red publishers cloth. Red and black title page additional "Birds-eye" engraved views of John Brown's & William Jessops and the maximum… number of advertisements (160 pages many with a second colour ) Over forty engraved views of works and their interiors.Title page lightly foxed as usual in this edition and an above average copy of a sought after book. Loosely inserted is an attractive engraved 1908 Pawson & Brailsford bill of sale. Further scans on request.
