Z / M : 264 pp., 249 ills. - This book traces the development of Pop Art in the fifties and sixties to the dialogue between British and American artists, documenting its complex genesis in London and later in New York and Los Angeles and concentrating on the development of its 'pure' characteristics, such as sharply outlined images and the use of photographic media and printing techniques. The book not only investigates the connections between American and British artists with respect to content and form but also takes a closer look at the exchange between the East and West Coast of the United States.

Thick, heavy folio volume in white cloth binding with the Mickey Mouse cutout and paint can mounted on the front cover in glassine dust jacket. Color and B&W illustrations with numerous fold-out plates. Condition: the book is in fine condition; the glassine jacket not so much. The lower half of the rear panel is torn away as is the lower 3 inches of the jacket's spine. None of these parts of the dust jacket had any writing on them, so there's no loss of text. The front panel of the jacket is fine as are the front and rear inner flaps - only the price has been clipped off the front flap. Overall, a fine copy with a fair DJ. 458 pages. Signed by Author(s).
