Fair ex-lib., lacks most of shelfback. [5], 142 p.; 18 cm. A satire on Mr. Turncote's troubles with the established Church of England From the Preface: `The object at which an immense proportion of our fellow-creatures are aiming is so evidently the pleasing of self, that it is a matter of legitamte surprise that scarcely any treatises exist upon that subject in the abstract. If to serve himself is the end of man, it must be the most important of all sciences.
