Konservativen Schätzungen zufolge sind etwa ein Fünf…tel der Strafgefangenen in Deutschland ehemalige oder aktuelle Drogenkonsumenten. Bisher gibt es nur vereinzelt auf diese Zielgruppe zugeschnittene Interventionen und Behandlungsprogramme. Entsprechende Wirksamkeitsnachweise fehlen fast vollständig.Im Fokus der im Buch dokumentierten Untersuchungen steht die Erprobung einer Therapievorbereitungsstation (TVS), die erstmals im hamburgischen Strafvollzug evaluiert wurde. Die Intervention umfasst ein suchtspezifisches 'Fertigkeitentraining' im Sinne der 'Dialektisch-Behavioralen Therapie' (DBT) nach Linehan, ein Training zur Rückfallprävention, Gesprächsgruppen sowie eine therapeutische Laufgruppe und ein Akupunkturangebot. Die Ergebnisse der Evaluation sprechen für die Machbarkeit und Effektivität einer Therapievorbereitungsstation.
