Very good, first paperback edition, first printing, copyright date has a black bar through it and a "1970" stamped under it. 160 pps + 52 (approx) photos. Interior pages clean, without writing or marks. First page light foxing. Cover shows shelf wear, light soil and crease on back cover. A work of respect, dignity, love.how else can one describe the images and text of the lovely out of print book documenting s time and place in America. Oblong format.George Tice is a well respected photographer whose work is represented in the collections of many major museums. Reviewing his photos, you can see how influncial he has been on other contemporary photographers. Millen Brand was a writer and poet who addressed social issues pertaining to mental health. Considering backgrounds of both, perhaps there is irony in the title of this book produced while the Viet Nam war was almost at its end.
