Illustrated profusely throughout, with a portrait frontispiece and 135 plates, most of which are full page, with 16 plates in full colour. Offset printed on a variety of matte and gloss papers. A near fine copy, the binding firm, with a little rubbing and bumping to the corners, the covers bright. The contents are clean and bright throughout and without inscriptions or stamps. The first edition (as here) was issued in a edition of 2000 copies. A second edition of 5000 copies (so marked) was called for in 1983. Documenting Haring's work in the early 1980's, it features examples of his varied output, including sculptures, subway drawings, colouring book pages, large scale murals and mixed media work, alongside essays on the artist, studio photographs and bibliography. A beautifully designed catalogue and comprehensive look at the artists early and most influential work. Further details and images for any of the items listed are available on request.
