A folha de rosto apresenta passagens em grego. Juan Torrella (Canet-en-Roussillon, circa 1564 ? 1581) pertence à segunda geração de humanistas valencianos. Era clérigo e latinista, tendo ensinado latim no Colégio de Cordellas, e mais tarde na Universidade de Valência (entre 1577 e 1581).A sintaxe latina de Torrella foi um grande sucesso desde o momento da sua publicação, pelo menos nos colégios da Companhia de Jesus em Valência, Foi publicada várias vezes até aos finais do século XVIII, com algumas mudanças e adaptações.
