This was the first detailed narrative of the 1944 Bomb Plot written by a German. The author was on the German Army Staff in the West when it occurred. He had been given a "hint" of what was planned in May of 1944. While he was at Rommel's HQ on the 21stJuly he learned further details. The author was a Senior War Reporter on the staffs of the Army Groups commanded by two of the Generals.
