First American edition, wrapper issue, large 8vo, pp. x, 262; illustrated throughout; wrappers curled and the book has been read; good and sound. From the library of Kim Merker. Merker did not mark his books much at all, but this bears his ownership signature at the top of the front free endpaper, has an 8½" x 11" sheet of paper laid in with his notes, and about 25 or so pages have his marks of readership: underlines, short annotations, brackets, etc.
