The first edition, published pseudonymously by Julian Fane (1827-1870) and Lord Lytton (1831-1891) of a Victorian epic inspired by the travelling German poet Tannhauser. The reception of the work was not entirely positive, with some considering it a 'pallid imitation of Tennyson' (ODNB). Size: 8vo.
