Hard Covers. Condizione: NF. No Jacket. 1st. Before the avdent of plastics and other modern products, porcelain was the traditional material for making dolls heads in particulat. Classic dolls from those earlier eras became scarce and this resulted in a revival of porcelain dollmaking along time proven lines. Helen Trihey was not only a porcelain doll enthusiast and maker, she taught the craft and imported supplies for it. Her own dolls won top awards and were exhibited in leading Australian department stores. The introduction to her book states that there tare "many pitfalls" to successful dollmakings and the purpose of the book is to help to avoid them by setting out and illustrating techniques, equipment and materials required to develop skills in the craft. In simple terms, complemented by numerous instructive drawings and photographs she outlines the step-by-step doll making process. There are 17 chapters covering stages such as kilns, moulds, greenware, painting, making cloth bodies and assembling the parts. First edition of 1984, 58 pages followed by 16 pages coloured photographs of reproduction porcelain dolls, instruction section illustrated throughout with b/w photos, tutorial and equipment drawings. Colour pictorial laminated hard covers NF, internally NF, no inscriptions. Photos, Drawings (illustratore).…
