Ab 1.12.1913 wurde er ärztlicher Leiter der "Königlichen Orthopädischen Klinik für krüppelhafte Kinder"(bis ca. 1920). Ab Ende des Sommersemesters 1937 wurde er von seinen Vorlesungsverpflichtungen entbunden. 1898 beantragen Trumpp und Hecker im Verein mit den Ärzten aus Schwabing die Errichtung eines Ambulatoriums für Kinderkrankheiten. Diese Gründung wurde bald in das Schwabinger Krankenhaus übernommen. 1900 erschien sein damals bekanntes Buch über "Säuglingspflege"und 1910 über "Kinderpflege".
