Straordinario esemplare pregiato da una dedica autografa molto personale dell'autore «Al mio secondo padre, con grande affetto e riconoscenza», datata «Milano, 27 febbraio 1909»: una data molto precoce che attesta della circolazione del libro già nel febbraio del 1909, durante il primo lancio del «Manifesto» qui stampato in introduzione. In ottime condizioni, con un leggero restauro alle cerniere perfettamente eseguito e quasi impercettibile; indicazione di «3° migliaio» in copertina, fittizia. Non comune opera prima futurista, e primo libro italiano a ospitare come prefazione il testo completo della «Fondazione e Manifesto del futurismo». Interessante raccolta di poesie versolibere pregiata da una rimarchevole copertina interamente disegnata da Ugo Valeri ed esaltata dal vivace arancione di fondo. Il libro era già almeno organizzato se non proprio pronto a inizio febbraio, annunciato in un comunicato stampa di supporto al lancio del «Manifesto del futurismo»; per il momento ne abbiamo attestato la circolazione alla fine dello stesso mese. -- «[.] the "Poesia" issue of February-March 1909 and the first two books containing the "Foundation and Manifesto of Futurism" as a preface (Cavacchioli's "Le ranocchie turchine" and the "Enquete internationale sur le vers libre") were already organized around 4 February, long before "Le Figaro". [.] The launch plan [of the "Manifesto of Futurism"] in early February 1909 foresaw the use of both the blue-ink leaflets, already in the process of being distributed in January but halted because of the earthquake, and the manifesto including the prologue that was already printed or ready to be printed in three of Marinetti's forthcoming publications: the "Poesia" issue of February-March 1909 and the two books mentioned above, one for the Italian and the other for the French market.
