Ward Ritchie writes in the Foreward to the main volume that "But for the untimely death of Glenn Schaefer soon after the press' inception.the San Pasqual Press might have become the premier publishing house of the West. The few books they did publish were outstanding trade publications, well-chosen and well-designed.".
