Hardcover. Condizione: Rough. No Jacket. Various {engravings} (illustratore). This copy has some light dirt, discoloration and rubbing of the beveled boards. Corner bumping with board showing. Spine is rubbed with wear at the head and foot. Hinges and gutters are solid. Darkening of the interior text, some spotting and foxing. numerous engraved illustrations throughout, some duo-foldouts.

Aggiungi al carrello[Book history] RARE PUBLISHERS' SAMPLES. Five volumes, octavo (largest volume 22 x 15cm). Each in publisher's cloth, all slim volumes lacking titles to spines. Each sample is unique, some containing lined paper at the back for the salesman to record subscribers. Every volume contains a sample of the text and various illustrations from the printed book, with the 'London Dickens' advertising a set rather than a single title. Both 'The London Dickens' and 'Our Martyred President' contain samples of alternative bindings, including leather. 'Earl Kitchener' contains instructions to salesmen. All volumes used with some wear and tear. An uncommon collection of sample volumes. Very good.
