The preface tell us that Veitch was at the U of Liverpool in 1906; he wrote this academic account of early radicalism going from Wilkes in the 1760s to around 1790. The big names are Wilkes, Burdett, Wyvill, Cartwright and Tom Paine. He includes a lot of detail, the result of much archival research (see footnotes). It is good enough to have justified a reprint fifty years later. Six appendices, index. Condition: a solid hardback copy- hard casing and d-j bright and clean; the text is very good but the intro. had a few minor pen marks in the margins (largely removed).
