Aggiungi al carrelloOriginal colour lithograph, a Vanity Fair caricature dated January 30 1896. Image size 320x200mm, sheet size 395x260mm. Margins variably but lightly toned, with a few minor surface creases, and with residue remaining from partially-removed single short & narrow white paper strips of width 5mm pasted down along 50mm of both left- & right-hand edges. Cluster of four light tan spots in right-hand margin, one of which just overlapping printed area; three further such spots confined to lower margin. Margins also with three tiny pin-holes - two close together towards upper left-hand corner, the other towards upper right-hand corner. Light rub-marks connecting three little bruises - one in upper margin, the other two close together and up to 20mm below upper edge of printed area but well above subject. Verso lightly toned, more deeply so towards edges, and with pencil inscription identifying subject. Condition GOOD.

Second Impression. 136pp. Plus Publishers adverts dated 1894 (30pp) plus a whole page advert listing books by Jules Verne.`Bound in the Publisher's bevelled green cloth with gilt titles to the upper cover and spine which is faded and a little rubbed. The contents are very clean save for the lightest of foxing to the preliminaries. The sixteen coloured plates are quite splendid with one loose and unbound.The end-papers are spotted and darkened and the name of a previous owner is in ink to the head of the front free end-paper. Overall a very good copy for its age.
