Der Einfluss des englischen Deismus gilt gemeinhin als wichtiger Faktor auch für die Entstehung der deutschen evangelischen Aufklärungstheologie.… Christopher Voigt zeigt, dass die Rezeption von englisch-deistischen Büchern in deutschen Zeitschriften und Kompendien des 18. Jahrhunderts differenzierter gelesen werden muss. Er verfolgt die Rezeption des englischen Deismus, also der englischsprachigen Religionsphilosophie des späten 17. und des 18. Jahrhunderts, im deutschen Geistesleben. Als Quelle dienen ihm Rezensionen und Zusammenfassungen der Werke englischer Autoren in Zeitschriften und Kompendien, die eine der wichtigsten Informationsquellen für die deutschen Zeitgenossen des 18. Jahrhunderts darstellten. In dieser Zeit tritt der 'englische Deismus' den deutschen Zeitgenossen erst nach und nach als eigenständige Gestalt einer Herausforderung an die christliche Religion und Theologie vor Augen. Die Ergebnisse der Untersuchung sind in sich gegenläufig: Zwar wird der englischen Religionsphilosophie in Deutschland Aufmerksamkeit gewidmet, eine systematisch-argumentative Begegnung bzw. Aufnahme bleibt jedoch randständig. Einen prägenden Einfluss auf die Entwicklung der deutschen evangelischen Theologie des 18. Jahrhunderts hat der englische Deismus nicht gehabt. Allerdings wird im Verlaufe der Diskussion mit der englischen Literatur der Atheismusdiskurs des 17. Jahrhunderts grundlegend transformiert: In der Nachfolge des 'Atheismus' erscheint der 'englische Deismus' in Deutschland als der Vorbote einer christentumsfeindlichen und kirchenfernen Gesellschaftsformation, vor deren Hintergrund die deutsche evangelische Theologie zu einem grundsätzlichen Wandel gelangt. -- Aus dem Inhalt: I. Zunaechst verfolgt er die von der Kirchenrechtssammlung Gratians angestossene Entwicklung bis zu Gabriel Biel. Als Leitlinie der Rekonstruktion dienen hierbei die unterschiedliche…n Deutungen des Begriffs der Amtsgewalt bzw. der Amtsgewalten (potestates). Dann untersucht er Martin Luthers Umgang mit den fuer die mittelalterliche Amtsvorstellung zentralen Begriffen und Kategorien. Bereits von seinen fruehen Vorlesungen an zeigte Luther einen eigenwilligen Zugriff auf den ihm ueberkommenen Problemhorizont mittelalterlicher Amtstheologie. Der konsequent daraus erwachsende 'spiritualisierende Zuschnitt' von Luthers Amts- und Kirchenvorstellung wurde erst 1523 durch die Vorstellung des oeffentlichen (Predigt-)Amts (ministerium publicum) abgeloest, wodurch Luther seine Amts- und Kirchenlehre in festere institutionelle Bahnen lenkte. Christopher Voigt-Goy verfolgt in dieser Studie die Problemgeschichte der Vorstellung vom 'kirchlichen Amt' von der Kirchenrechtssammlung Gratians bis zum fruehen Luther. Die mittelalterlichen Deutungskaempfe um den Begriff der Amtsgewalten werden rekonstruiert und Luthers eigenstaendige Stellung zum Problemhorizont mittelalterlicher Amtstheologie herausgearbeitet. Zunaechst verfolgt er die von der Kirchenrechtssammlung Gratians angestossene Entwicklung bis zu Gabriel Biel. Als Leitlinie der Rekonstruktion dienen hierbei die unterschiedliche…n Deutungen des Begriffs der Amtsgewalt bzw. der Amtsgewalten (potestates). Dann untersucht er Martin Luthers Umgang mit den fuer die mittelalterliche Amtsvorstellung zentralen Begriffen und Kategorien. Bereits von seinen fruehen Vorlesungen an zeigte Luther einen eigenwilligen Zugriff auf den ihm ueberkommenen Problemhorizont mittelalterlicher Amtstheologie. Der konsequent daraus erwachsende 'spiritualisierende Zuschnitt' von Luthers Amts- und Kirchenvorstellung wurde erst 1523 durch die Vorstellung des oeffentlichen (Predigt-)Amts (ministerium publicum) abgeloest, wodurch Luther seine Amts- und Kirchenlehre in festere institutionelle Bahnen lenkte. Christopher Voigt-Goy verfolgt in dieser Studie die Problemgeschichte der Vorstellung vom 'kirchlichen Amt' von der Kirchenrechtssammlung Gratians bis zum fruehen Luther. Die mittelalterlichen Deutungskaempfe um den Begriff der Amtsgewalten werden rekonstruiert und Luthers eigenstaendige Stellung zum Problemhorizont mittelalterlicher Amtstheologie herausgearbeitet.
