Copyright date 1942, 135 x 105 mm, 5½ x 4¼ inches, thin card covers with large extra coloured illustrations by Voigt, different on upper and lower covers, on the upper cover Sambo's mother stitches his sleeve, 10 pages including insides of covers. 4 large coloured illustrations and 2 large black and white ones by Margot Voigt. Sambo is a sweet little African toddler in these images. Spine and corners just slightly worn, small split at tail of spine, small crease at top corner of upper cover, couple of minute grazes to illustration on lower cover. Tiny brown spot to top of first page. A very good copy. Apparently S. Lowe published multiple versions of this title illustrated by Voigt from 1940.
