Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. First Edition; First Printing. Hardcover. 8vo. Published by Mouton & Co, The Hague, 1963. 270 pgs. Slavistic Printings and Reprintings, XXXVI. DJ has light shelf-wear present to the DJ extremities. Bound in cloth boards with titles present to the spine and front board. Boards have light shelf-wear present to the extremities. No ownership marks present. Text is clean and free of marks. Binding tight and solid. Innokentij Fedorovic Annenskij (1855-1909) was a Russian poet, critic and translator, representative of the first wave of Russian Symbolism. Sometimes cited as a Slavic counterpart to the poètes maudits, Annensky managed to render into Russian the essential intonations of Baudelaire and Verlaine, while the subtle music, ominous allusions, arcane vocabulary, the spell of minutely changing colours and odours were all his own. His influence on the first post-Symbolist generation of poets (Akhmatova, Gumilyov, Mandelshtam) was paramount; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 270 pages.
