Blending historical context with personal stories, the author reveals how personal decisions and actions have shaped the destiny of Britain. From the Saxons to the Tudors, and from the Stuarts through to Queen Victoria, this book traces the development of Britain's monarchy and political systems through the reigns and struggles of the men and women that led it. Providing deep thematic richness, the book considers questions of power, ambition, love, and faith, exploring the moral conflicts faced by those shaping political events. The work brings fresh insights and challenges conventional wisdom, arguing that many key events were the result of personal motivations that have been overlooked by traditional histories.
