Wraps. Condizione: Good. An unusual, complete copy with four pages of cut-outs, two in the front, two in the back, untouched and as issued! 8vo. 24.5 by 18 cm. Unusual pagination, with leaves numbered 1 to 6, then A to F, for a total of 24 pages, plus the four leaves with pastedown cut-outs, and text also on the wraps. With twelve chromolithographic plates, plus chromo illustration on the front and back cover. Essentially this is two titles. The first title covers the parts of an upper middle class home of the era, including the lawn and then the parlor, the dining-room, the bedroom, the nursery and the kitchen, and finally, a diversion entitled "The Path to the Woods". The text through this section is rendered in prose, whereas in the second half, concerning trades, everything is in verse. The trades include the shopkeeper, the carpenter, the mason, the painter, the miller, the druggist, the watchmaker, the gardener, the carriage builder, the shoemaker, and the ship builder. Moderate soiling to the cover. Short closed tear down fold of wraps. A few minor chips and other wear. A few leaves with light marginal dampstaining.
