Investigators uncovered that his frauds involved fake operations of Mississippi cotton plantations, Louisiana muskrat farms, and fictitious Mexican lead mines. His federal trial for using the mail system to defraud began in Boston on April 4, 1933. Prior to 1925 he had served a 4-year federal prison sentence in Leavenworth, Kansas, for other crimes. He had convictions in Florida (1927) for obtaining money under false pretenses, and arrests and warrants for grand larceny, forgery, and vehicle theft in NY, FL, MA. Earlier he was a private in the United States Marine Corps. Colorado or an apartment district in San Antonio, the inspector instantly knew what geographic area the fugitive was hiding in. Unlike local police or the early FBI, the Post Office Department had eyes on every single address in the USA (illustratore).…

Aggiungi al carrello[Platteville, WI]: Wisconsin Shakespeare Festival, 1982. Glossy poster. Folio (23" X 33"). Very good. Quite minor bit of wear to upper and lower edge, discreet and inoffensive. Annual poster for this professional company that performs at the Center for the Arts at the University of Wisconsin at Platteville in southwestern Wisconsin. Titled "Shakespeare shooting pigeons in the Globe Theatre" at the lower margin, this is a glossy reproduction (image size 22" X 24") of a dramatic charcoal depiction of the Globe Theatre stage, the bottom of the image extending well below the stage floor and the top of the image displaying the theatre's rafters. The stage itself shows a backdrop of a Renaissance cityscape. Center stage stands a male figure, aiming upward towards the rafters with a crossbow. Just below the image, Wisconsin artist BUD WALL (1939-2005) signs large and bold in pencil, dating it 1982. A superb piece in handsome condition.…
