Auf die laxe Verlegerhaltung deutet auch die erwähnte fehlende Textillustration hin. Einige wenige Bildtafeln sind mit handschriftlichen Ziffern versehen. Ungeachtet der erwähnten Mängel stellt das Buch ein interessantes Zeitdokument aus dem frühen Leben der Kap-Colonie dar und ist dementsprechend zu bewerten. Zum Buchpreis kommt keine MWSt. hinzu.
