An especially nice copy of the second edition, the first being the 1833 edition/printing.

That at $3.25 contains an addition sheet, a work of Washington's in 1758." This copy is the $3.25 printing/edition, with the 1758 pages.

George Washington (1732-1799) died on 14 December 1799; the four-page 'advertisement' at the beginning of this posthumous publication contains much pertinent information. 'The two letters of General Washington that are given entire . were published in the "Recreations in Agriculture, [Natural History, Arts, and Miscellaneous Literature]" for February last year. James Anderson was the editor of that journal. Pages 33-74 of this pamphlet contain 'the rude draught of a letter to General Washington' dated London, 10 January 1800; it was 'written out with an intention to be transcribed, and forwarded by an early opportunity, when the news of the death of that much respected man reached this country: of course it was never sent'.
