Imaginative and detailed ceramic objects gradually replaced human sacrifices, and these were produced in astonishing variety: houses, farm buildings, animals, and bizarre guardian creatures; handsome horses and amazing life-sized terra-cotta warriors; elegant ladies and vibrant dancers and musicians.
