Stated 'Subscriber's copy' No. 166 (of a Limited Edition) with the Signature in ink of the Author under the Limitation note. The Subscribers list at the front of the book lists around 203 subscribers only, but the actual limitation isn't noted. Bound in original light blue paper covered boards with black printed motif on front cover, with a 'new' (done before it got to me) - but near identical to the original - cloth spine and with the Original (rubbed/sunned) paper label mounted on the spine as on the original. Likely new endpapers too, but as these are blank and older looking it's difficult to tell. A stain to the front outer bottom corner, and the corners/some edges are rubbed through the paper to the boards with a little loss of paper at these points. NO other Inscriptions or Marks. All Hinges tight. Page fore edges slightly dusty/lightly browning in parts. (xxiv) + 257 pp. 22 plates and 7 illustrations in the text. A Colour Frontispiece oval portrait of Daniel Ddu o Geredigion. The frontispiece and some other plates, but not all, have tissue guards. Notes; Index. Contents include : - Memories of Lampeter and District; Social Life in the 18th Century; Care of the Poor; Illegitimacy; The Court Leet; Quarter Sessions; The Parish Church; Some Vicars; Various Biographies.; Earliest College Days; Garrick's Friends; The House of Peterwell; Lampeter Annal - Centuries XII - XVII, etc, etc. Also enclosed is a loose printed flyer/note from the Author on green paper - sunned to the edges - with the name of a Subscriber written in ink. (D. Lleufer Thomas M. A. Oxon, - of Swansea) asking for payment and for a 'critique' from this subscriber it seems. Overall a Very Clean, Tight and Bright, Good Plus/VG Minus copy - with an interesting 'Extra'. Now in a new protective clear - removable - bookfilm plastic cover and looks pretty good.
