Paperback. Condizione: New. This is the book that will flip the way you think about STEM, from 'not me' to 'I'm in!' Author Jeff Weld is the director of the acclaimed Iowa Governor's STEM Advisory Council. He sees STEM as 'a white-hot, transformative revolution in schooling as we know it.' He channels the wisdom of professionals… in education, business, and government to bring you the theory and policy behind nationally recognised education models for STEM. Whether you're an educator, business professional, or policy maker, you can share Weld's infectious enthusiasm as you extract best practices that will prepare students for the future.Creating a STEM Culture's wide-ranging topics include why STEM matters, what STEM networks do, how to build community buy-in for STEM, what makes school-business STEM partnerships work, and what STEM means for teachers, learning, and assessment. Each chapter is sprinkled with light-hearted case studies that complement the topic at hand. From start to finish, writes Weld, the story of STEM unfolds 'as a how-to, can-do, who's-who, you-too manual and memoire based on the experiences of leaders who walk the talk'.

Revised Shooting Final script for the 1961 film. Specially bound copy belonging to Jerry Wald, with his name in gilt on the spine. 18 reference photographs from the film bound in variously among the script pages. Jerry Wald is best remembered for his long and successful association with Warner Brothers as both a screenwriter and… producer of a number of notable films, including "Mildred Pierce" (1945), "Humoresque" (1946), "Key Largo" (1948), and "Flamingo Road" (1949). In the 1950s he moved to Twentieth Century-Fox, and was the producer there for "An Affair to Remember" (1957), "Peyton Place" (1957), and "Sons and Lovers" (1960). A sequel to Twentieth Century Fox's 1957 film "Peyton Place," based on the successful series of novels by Grace Metalious. Several years after the series of events depicted in the first film, the daughter of Connie MacKenzie publishes a tell-all novel about the scandals and hypocrisies of her hometown, alienating herself from her friends and neighbors. Shot on location in Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Bound in light blue cloth with navy quarter leather binding, with five raised bands and gilt titles on the spine. Title page present, dated December 6, 1960, noted as Revised Shooting Final, with credits for screenwriter Ronald Alexander and novelist Grace Metalious. 206 leaves, with last page of text numbered 160. Mimeograph duplication on eye-rest green stock, rectos only, with blue and pink revision pages throughout, dated variously between 12/8/60 and 1/18/61. Pages Near Fine, binding about Near Fine.

Taschenbuch. Condizione: Neu. nach der Bestellung gedruckt Neuware - Printed after ordering - It turns out that you can be honest and modest and succeed in Washington-just don't stay too long.An apolitical academic, an unknown, is appointed to the White House to advise the administration on STEM education, a topic absent of inte…rest by the president. Until that is, fans begin to accumulate, and momentum builds. A hire of disinterested necessity-merely an act of compliance with Congress-becomes a pivotal character triangulated between a workforce-focused West Wing, federal agencies fiercely guarding their independence, and a national groundswell-indeed an emerging movement-desperate for a North Star. This modern-day Gulliver's Travels in Bureaucracyland begins benignly enough. America's education systems must respond to the needs of industry, and thus the economy, and produce more scientists, technologists, engineers, mathematicians, and related professionals Congress declared in 2010. The White House's science and technology policy office was assigned to write a strategic plan and update it every five years. The first came out in 2013, due to expire in 2018. The Trump administration was on the hook, but as of 2017, it was on no one's radar.Under pressure and getting heat from Capitol Hill, the administration rolodexed who's whom in STEM and recruited a state servant for the federal chore. Short on time, oblivious to political polarity, unbound to beltway traditions, and unfazed by saboteurs, the Midwesterner blazed new trails for how D.C. can work in setting education policy.
