The Swiss ophthalmologist who in 1885 clinically described senile macular disease (age-related macular degeneration). His name is associated with "Haab's reflex", "Haab's magnet" and the "Haab scale".Karl Wessely (1874-1953), a German ophthalmologist who practiced in Wurzburg. During WWI, due to the use of poison gas, he was assigned to set up an eye ward. Wessely experimented on drugs to protect the eyes when using gas.Henricus Javobus Maria Weve (1874-1953) contributes an article on the design for an instrument for measureing the depth of the anterior chamber of the eye.The text is in German.
