39 x 27cm. Hardcover in poor condition, 123pp. Architect and designer Hendrk Wijdeveld produced this volume for the opening of the department store De Bijenkorf in the Hague. The layout and design mirrors that of his architectural magazine Wendingen which devoted an issue to the building. It was designed by Amsterdam School architect Piet Kramer and incorporates sculptures and design features by Hendrik van den Eijnde, Louise Beijerman, Johan Polet, Henri van der Stok, Pieter A.H. Hofman, etc. The volume is in its original paper-covered boards, which are split and almost detached from the textblock. Shaken between sections, and boards very worn.
