Er ist geb. zu Uelzne im Lüneburgschen 177., practicirte anfänglich zu Uelzen, dann seit 1795 zu Parchim, heirathete eine Tochter des berühmten Arztes Lebr. Fr. Benj. Lentin, war zu Schwerin seit 1806 Hofmedicus und seit 1819 Medicinalrath mit erhöhtem Gehalte. Für seine einsichtsvollen Bemühungen um die Wiederherstellung J.K.H. der Erbgrossherzogin Alexandrine erhielt er 1828 von dieser einen werthvollen Brillantring, vom Grossherzog die grosse goldene Verdienstmedaille und vom König von Preussen eine reich mit Brillanten und dem Namenszuge des Königs geschmückte Dose.
