Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. 1st Edition. Eco House Book by Sir Terence Conran True First Edition, 2009 Hardcover - Excellent Collector Copy with Iconic Die-Cut Cover Publisher: Conran Octopus Ltd (imprint of Octopus Publishing Group, part of Hachette Livre UK), 2-4 Heron Quays, London E14 4JP First published: 2009 (this is the original hardcover edition) Format: Large-format hardcover with distinctive cream die-cut / embossed cover Page count: 272 pages (including index; 271 pp. main text) Illustrations: Profusely illustrated throughout with over 300 full-colour photographs, colour diagrams by Colin Wilkin, and architectural line drawings. Green endpapers feature original white line illustrations of sustainable house designs. CONDITION: Very Good Plus (VG+) / Near Fine. This remains a highly attractive and well-preserved copy. Minor light water spotting / faint damp marks are present to the bottom corner of the front cover and along the outer edge of the back cover (likely from previous storage). These are superficial, pale, and cosmetic only - they do not penetrate the boards, affect the die-cut lettering or embossing, cause any staining, rippling, or musty odour, and have zero impact on the interior pages, text, illustrations, or binding. The striking cream front cover with its famous die-cut circular "O" in "ECO" and embossed lettering is otherwise bright and clean. The symbolic equation (tree + recycling symbol + people = house) is sharp and flawless. The dark green spine cloth is perfect with crisp white titling. Green endpapers with delicate white eco-house line drawings show no toning or foxing. All 272 pages are crisp, bright white, and free of any inscriptions, highlighting, underlining, creases, or previous owner marks. Binding is tight and square with no looseness. No bumped corners, no tears, no shelf-wear. The book remains in excellent, readable, and displayable condition throughout - the minor cover marks are the only defects and are clearly visible in the listing photos. Sir Terence Conran's definitive practical guide to sustainable living and green home design. In Eco House Book, the legendary British designer, retailer, and author (founder of Habitat, Conran & Partners, and one of the most influential figures in 20th-century design) demonstrates how relatively small, economical changes - from simple energy-efficiency repairs and water-saving measures to dramatic overhauls such as redesigning room layouts or converting basements - can transform any home into a greener, healthier, lower-carbon living space. This is the original hardcover with the unique, instantly recognisable die-cut cover that later paperback reprints (2012+) replaced with a standard design and different ISBN. Out of print in this format for over a decade, it has become increasingly sought-after by architects, interior designers, sustainable-living enthusiasts, Conran collectors, and mid-century/modern design aficionados. The book perfectly captures the moment when eco-design moved from niche to mainstream - still highly relevant in 2026 amid climate awareness and rising energy costs. TERENCE CONRAN (1931-2020): One of the world's leading designers, retailers, restaurateurs, and authors. Chairman of Conran Holdings and founder of the Habitat group that revolutionised home furnishings in the 1960s. His architecture and design practice, Conran & Partners, created landmark buildings worldwide. Author of over 50 books including the bestselling House Book series. ILLUSTRATOR & DESIGN TEAM: Colour illustrations and diagrams by Colin Wilkin; art direction and distinctive cover design by Jonathan Christie. A practical, inspirational, and visually stunning reference that remains one of the best guides to intelligent, responsible home design. Whether you are planning a full eco-overhaul or simply want to reduce your carbon footprint, this book provides clear, expert advice backed by beautiful real-world examples.
