Paper. Condizione: Good. First Edition. An Original Handwritten and Signed Letter by British Engraver William Henry Mote. Dated 1846. A letter to a Mr Hogarth dated May 5th 1846, discussing financial arrangements for engraving work undertaken, accepting 25 guineas of an originally previously agreed 40 guineas. The works were on an engraving of Lady Powlett, and if published, a work on Mr Holmes which would require another 5 guineas in fees . William Henry Mote (1803-1871) was a British stipple and line engraver, primarily known for his portraits. He produced etchings for reference books, as well as original etchings. Mote became a member of the Royal Academy in his twenties and his portraits hang in the National Portrait Gallery, London. Size is 180mm x 112mm. Condition is good. Light folding crease. Ref19257.
