First printing. 41 pps. in royal blue paper covered boards printed in black; frontis photographic reproduction of a portion of the manuscript, two portraits and a reduced photographic facsimile of an 1805 summons issued by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Yorkshire. Old pencil inscription on recto of the front board: "To Brother _______/ from a few of his admiring brethren of the Royal Wharfdale Lodge No. 1108 Otley". Very scarce piece relating to Masonic antiquities and archeology, a transcription of a manuscript regarding Freemasonry written no later than 1690 and believed lost for almost two centuries. Includes commentaries on the text and its history by prominent Yorkshire Freemasons G.E.W. Begemann and William James Hugan and with appendix tables cocerning history of Freemasons in West Yorkshire. Wear to the corners of the boards as well as some scuffing, heavy offsetting to the verso of the frontispiece and some toning to the page edges.
