Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good Minus. Condizione sovraccoperta: Good. 1st Edition. This book was previously owned by the remarkable Theodore Bikel, who had a real love for science-fiction. His small bookplate is on the front inside cover. Here's a little something from his Wikipedia profile: 'In 1959 he co-founded the Newport Folk Festival and created the role of Captain von Trapp opposite Mary Martin as Maria in the original Broadway production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's The Sound of Music. In 1969 Bikel began acting and singing on stage as Tevye in the musical Fiddler on the Roof, a role he performed more often than any other actor to date.' Here's another book that Mr. Bikel picked up while he was living in London. You can see that the blue covers look very nice, very clean, no wear that needs to be called out. However, the top and middle page edges have quite a few dust staining 'freckles', and in some instances they just peek over the edge of the actual pages. The book is square and very solidly bound from cover to cover with nicely tight pages and nicely tight covers. The pages are very clean and pretty bright. I'm not seeing any creasing. There are no markings. The aforementioned bookplate is the only attachment. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in the book. You can see the dust jacket. It has held up fairly well. There's soiling on the rear cover, a tiny loss at the spine's top edge, another small loss on the rear cover just touching the spine, and a loss off the rear top edge. There's also a small tear on the spine. The flaps look pretty good. There's a thin line of toning or dusting at their top edges. The jacket is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all, and will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. Newbury In Orm was a sequel to Dangerous Waters (1952) which showed 'British World War II heroes defending the realm against a new enemy from Under the Sea off Pembrokeshire, and was one of the better 1950s green-skinned-invader yarns. Newbury in Orm (1952) is a loosely connected sequel.' From the dust jacket: 'Newbury finds himself a rescuer once again. This is another adventure in the fantastic worlds that may be whirling around us and will excite the imagination of the reader with the thrills of its unusual story.'.
