Professionally photo-reproduced dust jacket in new mylar shows sunned spine and a 1/2 inch chip at head of rear gutter area, some light color loss at spine but no other chips. Book displays well in new mylar. Seventy Years with Horses, Hounds & People. At the tender age of ten, Middleton O'Malley Knott was so thrilled by a horse race that he there and then determined to become the greatest gentleman jockey in Ireland. He never did, but his first love has been his constant love, and riding, racing, horses and horsemen have remained the dominant interest in his life. In this engaging autobiography, shot through with Irish humor and full of sportsman's lore, O'Malley tells how he built a colorful career in America on the strength of his first love. He established himself in New Jersey as a veterinarian and took to riding to hounds and later he had a hand in founding most of the great eastern hunts.
