Rom 1973. - Hervorragendes Porträt des berühmten Aktionskünstlers entstanden während der Ausstellung "Contemporanea" in der Villa Borghese in Rom. Der Künstler in seiner bekannten "Uniform": Weste mit aufgesetzten Taschen darüber Wollmantel mit großem Fellkragen und dem obligatorischen Filzhut (von Stetson). - Der bedeutende ital. Fotograf Sandro Becchetti begann seine professionelle Fotografentätigkeit in der zweiten Hälfte der sechziger Jahre. Er hat mit den wichtigsten nationalen Zeitschriften und Zeitungen (L'Espresso, Il Mondo, Il Messaggero, L 'Unità, Paese Sera, Il Secolo XIX usw.) mit RAI, der BBC und France Presse zusammengearbeitet. Er dokumentierte über viele Jahre das soziale, politische und kulturelle Leben in Italien. Seine Werke wurden in zahlreichen Galerien und öffentlichen Einrichtungen in Italien und im Ausland ausgestellt. - Seine "Bilder sind jedes für sich eine Hommage an sein Motiv. Keines ähnelt dem anderen. Mal wählte der Fotograf den Ausschnitt so, dass der Betrachter die tiefen Furchen im Gesicht sehen kann, mal rutscht der Protagonist beinahe unten aus dem Bild heraus. Und auch die Texte zu den Bildern verraten, wie stark sich Becchetti mit dem Charakter seines Gegenübers auseinandergesetzt hat, wie er versuchte, sich in sein Motiv hineinzuversetzen. Dies versuchte er, in seinen Bildern zu vermitteln, und es ist ihm nahezu perfekt gelungen.
